Valentine's Day Candy Crafts for Kids

When you're a kid Valentine's Day is basically another Halloween, except you don't have to dress up in weird costumes order to score a ton of candy. My kindergartner is anxiously counting down the days until the Friday before Love Day.

It's Catholic Schools Week, so for the past few days I've been playing craft mom in my kindergartner's classroom. Fortunately, my daughter's teacher came up with most of the projects the kids put together. Still, getting 20 kids to stay on task with glue and scissors was a challenge.

Last week my daughter attended a sledding party. Unfortunately, it didn't last long because of poor weather conditions. Still, she was able to visit with friends and she scored a super cute party favor--a sled made out of wooden craft sticks.

The countdown to Super Bowl XLIV continues this weekend. We've been invited to a viewing party, but I know my 5-year-old will be bored to death, so we're headed to a sledding party instead. However, not everyone has the same options we do.

It's down to the final four in the NFL. The Jets, Colts, Vikings and Saints go head-to-head this weekend to see who will duke it out in Super Bowl XLIV.
