Making the Most of Scrapbook Paper

Scrapbook paper is colorful, whimsical, sophisticated and… not cheap. As such, I try not to waste a single scrap. Frugal scrappers know the importance of using every last piece of expensive scrapbook paper regardless of its weight. Patterned paper is very thin and is sold in large multi-packs, while cardstock is thicker and more durable. The former can get down in price to about 10 cents per sheet if you buy it in large quantities, while specialty paper can easily exceed $1 or more per sheet. However, both varieties can be repurposed and used for other craft projects. This is … Continue reading

Getting on a Scrapbook Design Team

So many of us, after we have been scrapping for years, want to get on a design team for a blog or website. This is not always easy. The benefit to many design teams is that you get free kits, or scrapbooking supplies to keep promoting certain products for the website. Each design team call has a lot of rules, and usually, a lot of submissions. Often times, they are looking for someone who can itemize ever product on their scrapbook layout and where it came from. This is something I’ve always struggled with. Once I open something, I often … Continue reading

Using Your Favorite Children’s Literature Books as a Scrapping Outline

I am always looking for fun and creative ways to scrapbook. My favorite scrapbooking subjects are my children so I tend to try and come up with ideas for them as individuals and even ideas where they can help out. Since we are a family who loves to read, I wanted to display that in a creative way. Each of my children has their own favorite bedtime stories. I thought it would be a cute idea to use some of their favorite books as a theme for a scrapbook but with a twist. In the scrapbook the child would be … Continue reading

Is Scrapbooking A Spectator Sport?

So, we all know that scrapbooking is technically NOT a sport at all, but wouldn’t it be interesting if it were? But, since we know it’s not going to make the Olympics anytime soon, let’s just pretend that it is for just one second. Are there spectators? Many times, it feels like there is no one that cares other than us about our beautiful scrapbook pages. For some people, that is just fine. They are content creating and scrapping even if no one is watching. But, in this age of the Internet, and everyone being everywhere all the time, it’s … Continue reading

Finding Fonts for Scrapbooking

Most scrapbooker’s choose to use their computer for journaling. This is usually because they do not like their own handwriting. My hope is that you will at least do a few layouts a year in your own handwriting, but at the same time, I also understand the flow and look that only a font has. I’m often asked where I get the fonts for the journaling blocks and titles that are on my scrapbook layouts. There is no set location, but I tend to watch the idea books and magazines for cute fonts and then I look them up or … Continue reading

Lady Saren, just a year older than Dashti, is frequently troubled by headaches and other ailments, so Dashti is brought to be a maid in her house. Saren … Continue reading
