Bottle Cap Zipper Pulls

These zipper pulls are great on a backpack, purse, or even used on a jeans belt loop. They are a great friendship craft because your kids can make one for all of their friends, or collect one from each friend with his or her initial.

You will need:

Bottle cap

Hammer and small nail

Colored Paper (origami or scrapbook paper works well)

Scissors

Letter Stamps or Pen

Mod Podge (or white glue mixture of 1 Tbls glue and 1 Tbs. water)

Paint Brush

Toothpick

Self-Adhesive Page Pebble (found in the scrapbooking section of the craft store)

Wire

Wire Cutters or Fingernail Clippers

Ball Chain with Closure

1. Hammer a hole in the top of the bottle cap. (Adult job!)

2. Cut a piece of paper in a circle to fit inside the bottle cap. Stamp an initial in the center, or write it with a pen.

3. Paint the inside of the bottle cap with Mod Podge or the glue mixture. Stick the paper circle in the bottle cap. Poke through the hole with a toothpick or darning needle.

4. Paint Mod Podge or glue mixture over the top of the paper. Let dry completely.

5. Stick a page pebble over the top of the initial.

6. Squirt glitter glue all the way around the page pebble, filling in the space between the pebble and the edge of the bottle cap. When the glitter glue is set, poke through the hole with the toothpick. Let dry completely.

7. Cut a piece of wire with the wire cutters or fingernail clippers, about 2 inches long. Thread the wire through the hole, about 1/3 of the way through. Wrap the short end around the long end close to the bottlecap. Form a loop with the long end and wrap the end underneath the loop securely.

8. Thread the ball chain through the top loop and wear it!
