Game Night – It Doesn’t Have To Be Complicated

We’ve been meaning to start a game night for a long time. I enjoy playing games as a family, and I know games provide all sorts of educational opportunities. But mainly, I know it’s important to have fun as a family. We just haven’t found a good time to have game night. During the week we are too busy with homework and work and scouts. By Friday we are beat. Saturday night is our movie night, and Sunday night we are busy getting baths, finding shoes and backpacks and preparing for the upcoming week. But last night, even though we … Continue reading

Party Games that Don’t Cost a Dime: Mystery Charades

Here is another fun idea for entertaining guests for free with a great game: Live Clue One of my favorite mystery games is called Live Clue. You play this game inside a house that has multiple rooms for the players to walk in and out of. To prepare the house, you open the doors to the rooms that you will be using in the game, and light one candle or grouping of candles in each of these rooms. Next to each of these candles, you place two or three markers. In one room, you place markers and one other object, … Continue reading

Marriage Exercises: Let’s Play a Game

Good morning and I hope you got a lot of sleep last night. One of the great things about the clocks changing is that when you get up, it’s still early. For those of us who get up early as a matter of course, it’s a great way to sleep in without actually losing any hours in the day. Holiday Jollies

One of the simplest ways to share a seasonal smile is to tell a Christmas joke.  Kids and adults alike appreciate a good holiday riddle.  What’s more, clean, seasonal funnies can be added to Christmas cards, family newsletters or used as an ice breaker at a company party or family get-together.  If you are entertaining kids this month, consider printing out the following … Continue reading

Prepping for a Memorable New Year’s Bash

Who says you need to get sloshed on the 31st in order to ring in the New Year? If you are planning a kid-friendly New Year’s Eve bash, you likely won’t be serving bubbly at all. However, that doesn’t mean you have to do without the toasts. Consider serving sparkling apple cider or Ginger Ale dressed up as a Mr. or Mrs. Bubbly. Simply cover a flesh-toned bodysuit with silver and white balloons or tape them to a black or ivory turtleneck and leggings. The costume is a fun way to liven up a New Year’s Eve shindig, and the … Continue reading
