Fun Father's Day Craftsby Michele Cheplic | More from this Blogger 08 Jun 2009 07:33 AM Generally speaking, dads are a pretty easy bunch to please. However, just because your dad is laid-back, doesn't mean that he wouldn't be hurt if you forgot him on Father's Day. If you are short on cash and time, or you have young children who love to craft, then consider making the following easy Father's Day gifts to show dad that he is a top pop: PAPER NECKTIE Materials: Scissors Construction paper Glue Embellishments: Glitter, glitter glue, sequins, stickers, buttons, paint, markers, crayons, etc. Directions: Draw the outline of a necktie on a large piece of construction paper (pick your favorite color) Cut out the necktie Cut one-inch wide strips from leftover construction paper Have child cut construction paper strip into small pieces Glue small pieces of construction paper onto necktie cutout (children can use a cotton swab or Popsicle stick to spread glue on construction paper) Fill necktie with the small pieces of construction paper When glue is dry, continue to embellish necktie with stickers, buttons, markers, paint, etc. Allow glue to dry thoroughly, then flip necktie over and write a Father's Day wish to dad on the back. On Father's Day present dad with decorated tie. DAD'S DAY NOTE PAD HOLDER Materials: New pad of Post-Its Empty cereal box Paper Markers or crayons Craft glue Scissors White paper Directions: Use markers or crayons to draw a design (it can be a basketball, squiggly lines, a car--anything your dad would enjoy looking at) on a piece of paper, and then cut it out. Glue your design onto the cardboard and trim off any extra space. Glue your memo pad in the middle of the design. Turn the project over and write a short message to Dad, like "Happy Father's Day! You're the best dad in the world." Allow glue to dry thoroughly, wrap it up and give it to Dad!
