Finding Fonts for Scrapbooking

Most scrapbooker’s choose to use their computer for journaling. This is usually because they do not like their own handwriting. My hope is that you will at least do a few layouts a year in your own handwriting, but at the same time, I also understand the flow and look that only a font has. I’m often asked where I get the fonts for the journaling blocks and titles that are on my scrapbook layouts. There is no set location, but I tend to watch the idea books and magazines for cute fonts and then I look them up or … Continue reading

Silly Fun With Digital Photographs

Digital photography makes so many cool and creative projects possible. This blog isn’t about those projects though. Instead, it’s about a very silly game that your kids will love to play. It’s also a way to teach them some art terms. But mainly, it is just for fun. To start, make sure you have good saved copies of your digital pictures. You don’t want to lose those. I can say that I am mildly obsessed with fonts. I own an encyclopedia of fonts and I labor over every stylistic decision I need to make for my online tee shirt and gift shop. Even years ago, I used to spend hours upon hours designing my old record label’s website. To this day, I pay close attention to the layouts and fonts used in magazines, websites and on product boxes – yes, I am a little strange. One evening, while writing an article for Families.com, my girl climbed up on my lap and wanted to see what I was … Continue reading
