The big day is here! Yay! Later on you get to go trick-or-treating or trunk-or-treating and maybe you even get to go to a party. Did you have a party at school? This is such a fun day!

Even though it's a very exciting time and Halloween or Harvest can be a lot of fun, there are also some important things that everybody needs to remember. Did you make a Trick-or-Treat Safety Checklist? If you did, it's time to review. If not, you can find the safety tips below, plus a few others.

Here's the checklist from the craft project posted previously:

1. In the dark of night, you need a light.

2. When crossing the road, find a hand to hold.

3. Walk, don't run, falls spoil the fun.

4. If the porch light isn't on, move along.

5. Have adults check your treats, before you eat.

Here are some more tips and ideas to help you make sure your trick-or-treating adventures will be safe and fun:

1. Be careful of animals you don't know. They might look cute, but that doesn't mean they are friendly.

2. Watch out for other trick-or-treaters. It's easy to step on someone else's costume and trip or cause someone else to trip.

3. Pay attention to the time. In many areas, trick-or-treating ends at a certain time and you should stop and head home before the deadline.

4. Always be polite and say thank you when people give you candy.

5. If you don't like the candy they give you, it's better not to tell them that. Just say thank you and then try to trade it with a friend or brother or sister for something that you do like (after Mom or Dad check everyone's treats).

6. Stick close by your friends or family members. Never wander around alone.

7. If you get separated from your group, look for a Mom or Dad with kids to ask for help.

*Be careful and be safe and have fun!
