Kid-Friendly Easter Games and Craftsby Michele Cheplic | More from this Blogger 08 Apr 2009 09:15 AM If you are hosting a house full of children for Easter this year, then it's best to be prepared with several kid-friendly activities. After all, egg hunts only last so long before kids deem them "boring." The following simple games and crafts are ideal for kids of all ages, and they won't put a dent in your wallet: EASTER EGG ROLL Used colored chalk to draw four parallel lines on the driveway or in the garage. The lines should be eight or ten feet long, and four or five inches apart. You should be left with three narrow spaces. At the end of each space draw a circle. You should have three circles. In the middle circle write the number 10. Write the number 5 in the other two circles. Next, write the number 3 in the space below the middle circle. Write the number 1 in the areas below the other two circles. The object of the game is to have each child roll five eggs, one at a time, down the middle space to the circles at the ends. If the egg reaches the middle circle, it counts as 10 points. However, if the egg stops short of the circle and lands in the middle space, it counts only 3 points. If it ends up in the side circles it counts as 5 points, and if it lands outside the 5-point circle it counts as 1 point. The child with the most points at the end of his turn wins the game. TISSUE PAPER EASTER EGGS This decorative tissue craft can be used to decorate various rooms in your home. It's also a great project to keep kids busy during an Easter party. Materials: Cardstock, construction paper or craft foam for egg Pink tissue paper squares Purple tissue paper squares Yellow tissue paper squares Ribbon Pompoms Buttons Glitter Sequins Stickers Glue Pencil or object to twist tissue around Scissors Directions: Trace an egg shape on card stock, construction paper or craft foam. Cut out egg shape. Have kids twist tissue paper squares around the bottom of a pencil to make tissue paper blossoms. Glue blossoms on egg. Embellish each egg with pompoms, stickers, glitter, sequins, buttons and ribbon.
