Last-Minute Homemade Father's Day Giftsby Michele Cheplic | More from this Blogger 18 Jun 2009 05:09 AM Father's Day is just three days away. Haven't shopped for dad yet? Grab the kids, raid your craft closet and have fun making these heartwarming gifts to give to dad on Father's Day: HANDPRINT SHIRT The more handprints, the better for this Father's Day craft. When you are done with the prints, finish it off with a cute message like "World's Best Dad, Hands Down!" Materials: T-shirt (in Dad's size) Aluminum foil Fabric paint in multiple colors Directions: Wash and dry the shirt before starting the project. Lay shirt on a flat surface and place a piece of aluminum foil inside (to keep the paint from bleeding through to the back of the shirt). Squeeze some paint out onto a paper plate and coat your children's hands with it. Use different colors for each child. Have children press their hands onto the shirt and then lift straight up. Use paint to write your children's names under each set of handprints. Then, write the phrase "World's Best Dad Hands Down!" (or another favorite saying) under the prints. FOOTBALL FRAME If your dad is a football fan, then he's sure to love this personalized keepsake: Materials: Unfinished wooden frame (available at craft stores) Unfinished wooden football (available at craft stores) Paint - Green, brown, and white 3-D Paint - white and other favorite colors Paintbrushes Glue Markers Picture of son or daughter Directions: Paint the frame green and the football brown.
