Spring Into Spring

Spring can spring any time now, as far as I am concerned. Like millions of other Americans enduring the most recent Arctic blast, I’m over winter. Unfortunately, there isn’t much I can do to control the weather.  However, rather than wallow in despair, I’m channeling my inner sun goddess and working on spring-themed scrapbooks. If you are looking for ways to keep warm this winter, spring ahead a bit and take advantage of sales on spring scrapbooking kits.  The seasonal collections typically hit the shelves in mid-January and feature colorful paper, plus a slew of coordinating embellishments, such as stickers, … Continue reading

Spring Into Spring Scrapbooking

Most of the nation has been experiencing an early spring–or non-existent winter–so why not extend the seasonal surprise to your scrapbooking? They don’t take much time, effort or money to create, and they go a long way to add a pop of color to your layouts. What’s more, you can place them practically anywhere on a page design. Depending on the size of your ribbon bloom you could use it to … Continue reading

More Ways to Scrap Your Spring Break Adventures

Making a spring break travel scrapbook is fairly simple. After all, it doesn’t take much to add photos and memorabilia to layouts. However, if you are looking for ways to make your pages pop, then consider the types of embellishments you use. For example, for a beach-themed page, instead of using a slew of store-bought stamps and stickers for added effect, why not create an ocean and sand setting as a backdrop for favorite photos of your kids frolicking in the waves? You can use chalk to draw the water and sandpaper for the sand. Or, use fine art sand … Continue reading

Spring Scrapbooking

If I look really, really close I can spot a blade or two of grass under the pile of snow that is blanketing our front yard. I guess spring must be on its way. In Wisconsin spring typically arrives in late May and lasts for about 20 days… but who’s counting. Take it from me; you don’t have to be running around without a jacket, snipping fresh tulips from your backyard and humming along with the birds to get psyched about scrapbooking the first season of the year. Forecasters are predicting another three inches of snow will fall on my … Continue reading

Older children will be able to create this Easter egg candle with little adult supervision, but if you have younger children you will need to monitor them very closely as hot wax can lead to serious injuries. EASTER EGG CANDLE Materials: Tweezers … Continue reading
