Loom Knitting – Fun For All Ages

I picked up the Knifty Knitter looms on a whim about a year ago. The pack of four were on sale for about seven dollars. Many years ago, I had a long loom called a Knitting Jenny. As a girl, I never did learn how to cast on and off the loom but I loved to knit on it. With regular needles I always had gaps and holes and loose threads. Mosaic Tile with Kids

Tile mosaic was our latest craft experiment. The kids really enjoyed making light switches for their room. To start, we lightly sanded plastic light switch covers so that the grout and tile and glass pieces would stick better to the plastic. Next we picked out tile pieces to fit onto the covers. We glued them down with regular white glue. The idea is to get lots of pieces of tile on the cover, but leaving about ¼ of inch of space for the grout later on. Beeswax Candles – Easy Family Craft

Making your own candles is fun. With sheets of beeswax, it’s also very easy. You don’t even have to melt the wax. Beeswax comes in flat rectangular sheets that have a honeycomb pattern. To make candles, all you need is the sheet of beeswax and a wick. Both the beeswax sheets and the wicks are available in the candle making section of major craft stores.
