Halloween School Parties – Room Mom Tips

Helping with a school Halloween party can be lots of fun. My favorite part is getting to see all the children dressed up. I like to bring either a Polaroid or a digital camera to capture the kids in their costumes. Ideally, I like to download and print their pictures before the day is over, but that rarely happens. Even if they don’t get the pictures back until the next day, it still makes a nice souvenir. For food I’ve found that vegetable and cheese trays balance out the sugar and overexcited children, too. Magic Halloween Paint Project for Preschoolers

Halloween is a magic time of year. Here’s an easy painting project that preschoolers and even older children will be enchanted by. It only takes a few minutes and a few supplies. You’ll need a yellow piece of paper, a yellow crayon, a large paintbrush, and orange watercolor paint. On the paper, draw in a pumpkin shape with the yellow crayon. Paper Pumpkin Faces

If you are looking for a way to occupy small children who are excited for Halloween, try this one. As an added plus they can learn about shapes, names for the different part of the face, and facial expression. Make a pumpkin face without a pumpkin. Foam craft sheets are great for this project, but felt or even construction paper will work too. Cut a large pumpkin shape from your foam, felt, or paper.
