Make a Splash this Christmas

Here's a great holiday gift idea for the family that doesn't need another board game, blender, or photo album---a gift card to a water park.

Several indoor water parks across the country are offering fabulous savings on weekend stays while others are offering bargains on day passes. The idea is to give families a fun place to bond while the kids are out of school.

For example, Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania, home to the brand new Split Rock Resort & Golf Club, is offering amazing deals for its new indoor water park. The massive $19 million park, called H20ooohh Indoor Family Waterpark, includes hot tubs, three large slides, a wave pool, a three-story tree house with squirting water toys and dumping buckets, and the Komodo Dragon. It also features Pennsylvania's first indoor FlowRider, which generates waves suitable for surfing. The park also includes a play area for toddlers, a food court and a tiki bar for mom and dad.

Right now you can purchase day passes for just $40 for adults and $35 for children 42 inches and under (children 2 and under are free). If you arrive after 4 p.m. you can save $8 on tickets. (Note: All guests are responsible for bringing their own towels.)

In addition, the resort is also offering a variety of holiday packages that include accommodations and water park admission. For example, this month midweek rates start at $100 per person, per night with a two-night minimum; weekends start at $130 per person, per night, with a two-night minimum.

In addition to the water park, the resort also boasts a bowling alley, a full arcade, billiards, basketball, a movie theater, and a spa and fitness center. So, if you can't make it to Hawaii or the Bahamas this season, consider getting wet with your kids in an indoor water park. It sure beats shoveling snow.
