Paper Mache Bowl for Trick or Treat Candyby Sherry Holetzky | More from this Blogger 04 Oct 2006 06:35 AM Do you like Paper Mache? It can be slightly messy but it's fun. It's simple enough that almost anyone can do it. Just protect your work surfaces, and you won't have to worry about the mess. For this project, we'll try something a little different. Start with a large plastic bowl and turn it upside down. Paper Mache strips of paper onto the bowl. Do several layers. For the top layers, add strips and pieces of colored tissue paper or construction paper for an interesting affect. You can try orange and make your bowl look like a pumpkin or a jack-o-lantern. You can use any colors you like or use plain paper and just paint it once it's completely dry. Let the Paper Mache dry and the carefully remove it from the bowl. You'll have a bowl shape although the top edges will probably be a little rough. If you like the way the rough edge looks, use it as is. If not, a grown up can smooth the edges off with a utility knife.
Once you add candy, just make sure you save some for the trick-or-treaters that will be visiting soon! It might prove to be a very scary night if you run out of treats! *What's your favorite kind of candy? Check out the Candy Warehouse for great deals on candy for any occasion.
