Here are some more crafts to help celebrate Veterans Day:

Veterans Day Wreath

You may have never heard of making a wreath for Veteran's Day, but that's okay. Wreaths can be for any occasion.

Things you will need:

  • Smooth wreath form
  • Glue
  • Cardstock or construction paper (red, white, and blue)
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon or yarn
  • Small flag or flag picture

*An embroider hoop or even a sturdy foam or paper plate will also work in place of wreath form. You can also decorate a grapevine wreath if you like.

What you need to do:

Veterans Day CraftsFirst, you'll want to cut out lots of stars in red, white, and blue.

Next, arrange stars all the way around the wreath form or embroidery hoop and begin gluing them in place. It's okay if they overlap. If you're using a plate, trace a round shape (a lid will work) onto the center of the plate and cut it out. Then glue on stars.

On the bottom, in the center, you want to glue the flag in place instead of the bow that is often found on a wreath.

Tie some string or yarn around the top of the form and use it to hang up your wreath.

*You can add glitter to some or all of the stars if you like.

Star Spangle Swag for Veterans Day

You will need the same items listed above for this project. Cut out larger stars, decorate them if desired, and use a hole punch (or have an adult use a pick) to make a hole in the center of each one. Thread the stars onto a long strip of ribbon, one by one, tying knots on both sides of each star as you add them. Place an American flag in the center of your swag and hang it up.
