Halloween or Harvest Day?

Some people celebrate Halloween, while others don't much care for it. Some celebrate Harvest Day instead, especially many people of faith. Whichever one you prefer, or even if you celebrate both, October 31 means treats and fun for kids. I'll try to include projects and ideas that can be used for both...

Lunch Bag Pumpkin Craft

This project is incredibly simple to make and you can make a bunch of them for just a few dollars. Pick up a package of brown paper lunch bags, and you can make more pumpkins than you know what to do with. You will also need some newspaper or plastic grocery bags, some craft paint, string, construction paper, and glue.

*Never leave children unattended with plastic bags.

Paper Mache Bowl for Trick or Treat Candy

Do you like Paper Mache? It can be slightly messy but it's fun. It's simple enough that almost anyone can do it. Just protect your work surfaces, and you won't have to worry about the mess...

Do Something Different with Pumpkins

Are you looking for something different to do with pumpkins this year? Tired of the same old stuff? Try some of these cool ideas:

  • Pumpkin Planters for Outdoors and In
  • Use Pumpkin Carving Patterns and Stencils

Make Pumpkin Pals!

Okay, so you're not big on breaking out the butcher knife to carve a pumpkin and you don't feel like dealing the messy insides. Who can blame you? This is especially true if your kids are really little. Still, you want them to have fun and enjoy some holiday decorating. Just make pumpkin pals instead of regular jack-o-lanterns...

Design Your Own Trick or Treat Bags

There are lots of cute ideas for designing and making your own trick or treat bags. Some involve actually making a bag yourself, while others simply require you to decorate a ready made bag to turn it into a trick or treat bag.

  • Tiny Tots Trick or Treat Bag
  • Duct Tape Tote Bag
  • Sew a Tote
  • Promote Your Business with Logo Trick or Treat Bags
