Harvest Party

As usual, our church did a fantastic job throwing the Harvest Party. Kids, from the biggest to the smallest, had a great time. So did most of the parents. It started with “trunk or treat” in the parking lot, and once inside the Family Center (complete with restaurant kitchen and gymnasium) the real party started. While the party is intended for small children, the entire family is invited and may participate in activities, from games, a hayride, a puppet show, and door prizes, to the much-anticipated cakewalk. Throw A Harvest Party

Fall is a great time to throw a party and enjoy those last few days of nice weather before winter storms set in. So invite your child’s friends or entire families and have a harvest party. Invitations: Silk Leaf: To make simple leaf invitations you can buy silk leaves and print the party information using a black marker. Leaf Stamped: For this invitation paint a leaf (green ones work better) red, yellow, or orange and then turn the leaf paint side down on a piece of cardstock. Teens and Halloween

Another Halloween is coming and my kids are starting to get ideas. My son likes to stick close to home and give out candy. This usually involves trying to also scare people that come to the door. My daughter is the adventurous sort. She is asking to go beyond her usual Halloween Boundaries to another subdivision because she heard that they give out money. Parents of teens are often apprehensive about Halloween, and with good reason. Odds and Ends: Birthdays and Tailgate Parties

Do you have any parties planned between now and the onset of the holidays? Maybe you do a Halloween or Harvest party. We’ll get into those soon, but for now, here are a couple of tips for some other types of fall parties.
