True to Life Crayons From Crayola

Sometimes all it takes to inspire children is a new product or two. Last night at the craft store I spotted a new product from Crayola called “True to Life”. These markers, twistable crayons, and colored pencils each have tri-color tips so that you draw with three related colors at once. The colors were chosen from true colors in the natural world. Squeeze ‘n Brush Paints

Elmer’s has a new product called Squeeze ‘n Brush. They advertise it as “no mess painting”. The boys and gave these a try on some plaster ornaments and on paper. The great part is that the paint is in the paintbrush. You open up the seal (probably a parent or older sibling job), and then squeeze the plastic tube that is the handle of the paintbrush and the paint squeezes down into the middle of the bristles. Make Your Own Super Balls

The craft store had a lot of children’s craft kits on sale yesterday. We picked up several for three dollars apiece. All three boys agreed that they wanted to try the super ball kit first. The picture on the front of the box showed regular spherical balls, but also geometric multi-sided and flower shaped balls. Inside the kit though, there were only two molds to make small and large bouncy balls. On the corner of the box it does say that it only contains two molds.
